Graphite Fishing Rods

Fishing Rods

What Graphite rods are, what you can do with them.

Things you should not do with them

Graphite Fishing Rods easily provide the best Angling experience there is.

However there are somethings you should know.

Graphite Rods

                   What Graphite is.

The difference between IM6 IM7 IM8 IM10 is not a difference in quality or that the higher the modulus, the more graphite was used to produce the rod is all it is.

IM6, IM7 and IM8 are the model numbers used to identify the product and is not an industry quality or material standard.

Modulus is not a thread count
.
Modulus basically equates to stiffness.
The higher the modulus, the stiffer the material is by weight, meaning less material is needed to achieve the same stiffness of lower-modulus materials. This results in a lighter product.

                  Weight prevents good performance.

Stiffness also equates to responsiveness – that is, the rod’s ability to store and release energy. The higher the modulus, the faster and more consistent a rod is able to store and release energy.
Graphite rods enable you to cast further and more accurately
.
Modulus strain rate, or the measured strength of the material. While modulus is reported in millions, strain rate is reported in thousands. An acceptable strain rate for a fishing rod is 680,000 or higher.

We now have new technology that enable the manufacture of high-modulus, high-strain-rate rods. These new high-tech fishing rods are super-light, responsive, and extremely sensitive and strong
.
High-modulus, high-strain-rate, thin-walled rods are extremely strong and are highly unlikely ever to break under normal use.

Almost all Graphite rods are damaged by other means
.
Impact damage is the most common problem.

I have broken a Graphite rod tip by flicking a 2.5g lure against the tip

Transport and Storage are the most critical when using these amazing rods, take care with them.

                            ADVANTAGES OF GRAPHITE RODS

·      Light to use

·      Accurate for casting

·      Sensitive for bites or takes

·      Can be used with faster presented Lures such as crank baits and slower presented lures and still be sensitive for the take

·      Enhance the fishing experience.

WHAT YOU DO NOT DO

It's not a crane use a gaff or nett

All Graphite rods have a casting weight recommendation

As an example the Evans LS7026F has a casting weight of max 1oz.

It is wise to follow this guide.

If you exceed this weight you WILL overload the Rod, that is the stress will be too much and it will break.

It is very different to the pressure that fighting a fish gives to the rod.

When fighting a fish the stress travels down the rod in an even curve.

It is almost impossible to snap a Graphite Rod this way (unless you are lucky enough to  have hooked a monster on light gear)

If you plan on using big sinkers or a couple of pilchards on a light spin rod.

DON'T

If this is your fishing style buy a composite (we don't make them)

Or a heavier rod capable of handling this extra stress.(we do make them) any "T" series

The Evans LS6624,LS6024,LS7026,LST7026 are light spin rods.

Of course you can bait fish with them but follow the casting weight guide.

Graphite Fishing Rods are amazing fishing rods.

But you have to be careful, In the hands of a fisherman that knows what they

are doing they will provide an experience almost better than sex.

I did say almost!

Seriously our Graphite Fishing rods are high grade and not cheap compared to a composite rod, Graphite rods  are meant for fishermen .

If your just a chuck it and chance it, Perhaps K- Mart is for you.

Or choose a "T" series

I do not wish to lose customers , but !

Graphite Rods and the advantages have been well known to

Fly fishers for many years.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record.

Take care of you Graphite Rod.
